FRIMO Innovative Technologies stands for high-tech production solutions for composites and lightweiht applications. REVOLUTIONARY NATURAL FIBER SURFACES

NFPP has a new look. Material and process have been developed by Leonhard KURZ in cooperation with FRIMO  Innovative Technologies, enabling completely new design options for a sustainable material.  NFPP, made from natural fibers and polypropylene, offers lightweight, durable solutions with appealing design flexibility.

The partnership combines KURZ's material expertise for innovative decorative films with FRIMO's technology and process expertise for tailored tools and equipment.

This collaborative project has enabled KURZ and FRIMO to seamlessly integrate the decorative film into the process and at the same time create a reproducible, appealing appearance that can be perfectly adapted to individual customer needs. Natural automotive design surfaces can be realized with a completely new approach, that also offers unlimited options for decorative surfaces in any other industry.

CONBILITY AND FIT - NEW APPROACH FOR TURNKEY SYSTEMS

Conbility and FRIMO are pooling their expertise to develop innovative, turnkey production systems for composites processing. The focus is on providing efficient and flexible technology chains, which will be presented at JEC World 2025:

1. Preforming using dry fiber placement

  • 2D preforming with a table-based gantry system
  • 3D preforming with a robot-guided applicator
  • Automated handling and integration into the RTM process

2. Thermoplastic preforming

  • 2D gantry system for customized tailored blanks made from tapes or cross-plies
  • Processing of organic sheets for the targeted adjustment of anisotropy
  • Integration in thermoforming processes with downstream steps such as welding or punching

The bundling of expertise enables customized solutions for the efficient production of high-performance composites.

 

SOLUTIONS THAT FIT BATTERIES

The production of batteries is highly complex and versatile. A wide variety of processes and components are required. Depending on the application - whether for individual battery components, battery protection or stationary batteries - we work with you to develop the optimum process for efficient and modern production. Tools and systems.

We have already implemented polyurethane solutions, trimming solutions, technologies for pressing/molding and composites processing as well as joining and assembly processes with customized automation using a wide variety of manufacturing and processing concepts in the field of e-mobility and battery production. We offer tools and systems with customized automation. Applications range from laboratory scale to large-scale production for

  • Electrodes
  • Gapfillers
  • Cells Sparators
  • Membranes
  • Potting

Battery Protection includes housings,  underbody protection, EMC shielding, heat shielding and temperature control.

 

NEW HYBRID TOOL TECHNOLOGY

Hybrid Solutions through combination of Plastics Injection Molding with Metal Die Casting meet the demand for highly stressed, complex-shaped lightweight structural components. Light metals with their high specific strengths offer decisive advantages, but these cannot be fully exploited in monolithic construction.

For this reason, the use of light metal/thermoplastic composites or corresponding hybrid components is increasingly becoming the focus of product and process development. More resource-efficient processes therefore need to be developed for the hybridization of lightweight structural components. The technological goal pursued as part of the joint project “Hydrun”project was to combine the individual processes of die casting and injection molding and adapt them to each other to such an extent that, for the first time, metal die casting and plastic injection molding can be combined inline.

The functionalization of the light metal component takes place directly in a new type of hybrid tool system technology, with which hybrid material composites and structures of high load-bearing capacity and durability can be realized on one system.
