FRIMO FLEXTRIM ROBOTIC CELL
For flexible deburring and more.
In the automotive sector, there are a number of larger plastic components that need to be deburred in certain areas. In close cooperation with Schunk, FRIMO has developed a standardized, flexible deburring cell. In this process, the protrusion is milled off with a special deburring spindle. The cell is equipped with a T-slot table on which the component to be machined or further machining stations can be fixed.
The new FRIMO robotic cells for deburring offer maximum flexibility, as the robot can either guide the deburring tool along a fixed component or guide the component along a fixed deburring fixture. In contrast, conventional automatic deburring machines are usually designed for only one application.

FRIMO BACK-MOLDING TECHNOLOGY WITH INTEGRATED TRIM
For sophisticated interior components and increasingly also exterior applications in vehicles, decorative films are frequently back-injected with a carrier material. To avoid the gating point being visible on the good side of the components, it is often placed to the side or outside the component. But even in these cases, removal of the sprue often presents a special challenge.
FRIMO has developed a method of removing such sprues and foil protrusions in an integrated process in such a way that further post-processing is no longer necessary. The core element is a robot with a custom-developed removal gripper that guides the back-molded component past the stationary trimming station after removal from the injection molding cavity, true to contour. The trimming cell can be installed as a "bolt-on unit" directly on an injection molding machine.
The process is not limited to components with back-molded decorative foils. It can be used for all rather complex injection molding applications.
FRIMO INNOVATIVE BUMPER PRODUCTION
FRIMO has been supplying equipment for the final production of bumpers for several years and in the meantime counts practically all well-known 1st tiers in this segment among its own customers. The well-known equipment for combined punching, welding, gluing, milling, assembly for license plates, distance sensors, add-on parts etc. is only a part of the product portfolio. With new types of equipment and processes, FRIMO is taking a decisive step together with its customers towards the bumper production of the future. Flexible robot welding and assembly systems, highly flexible assembly lines and the seamless integration of sensors as a design application, i.e. sensor holder is no longer visible from the outside, complement the portfolio of classic plant technology for bumper punching.
